My e-bikes
This is my personal page about the electric bikes I build and ride. I am a physicist working in Prague, and for many years I have been turning ordinary bicycles into electric ones: I fit hub and mid-drive motors, print boxes for the controllers on a 3D printer and make others from wood. Two-wheel drive (2WD) is my main choice: such bikes are fast, reliable and cheap. I design and assemble the battery packs myself from single cells, or buy ready-made packs.
Here I describe the bikes one by one, with their main characteristics. The newest is a Finder 26 fat-tire bike with a 60 V system, for which I have bought a 17S 40 Ah battery.
In my opinion, an e-bike build should start from the battery. There is no point in putting a heavy battery on a slow bike.
